NASA NEBRASKA SPACE GRANT & EPSCoR AWARDS ACADEMIC RESEARCH

The NASA Nebraska Space Grant Consortium (NSGC) and Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR) recently selected 27 projects to be funded through the NSGC Seed Research, Travel Grant, and Education Outreach Programs.  Each funding program was established to assist specific research endeavors.  Seed Research funding provides an opportunity for faculty researchers to compete annually for project funding.  NSGC & EPSCoR Travel Grants allow faculty and students to obtain funds for presenting research, attending scholarly conferences, and building research collaborations.  Additionally, the Education Outreach Program was established as an opportunity to develop innovative teaching methods and techniques for Nebraska students.

Priority was given to projects that will establish research collaborations with NASA scientists or NASA Centers.  The awarded projects range in focus from geospatial analysis of agricultural land to aquatic spectroscopy and airborne imaging.  Awardees, corresponding academic institutions, and individual project titles are provided for each funding program below.
