Mr. Scott Vlasek .

 

Mr. Scott E. Vlasek is the Academic Program Manager and Manager of Technology-Based Educational Systems for the Aviation Institute. Mr. Vlasek has a Master of Public Administration degree with an Aviation Administration minor from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Additionally, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Studies along with minor concentrations in Space Studies and Criminal Justice from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Mr. Vlasek oversees the undergraduate program for the Aviation Institute and coordinates all activities associated with this program. Mr. Vlasek is also the Web Master for the department, is an adjunct instructor, and is the computer administrator of the Institute. He also serves as the Institute’s Golf Tournament Coordinator raising funds for student scholarships. He holds a Federal Aviation Administration Private Pilot certificate. His Master’s degree capstone project was entitled "Alternatives to Essential Air Service: What are the Options for the State of Nebraska." Vlasek has engaged in research on safety concerns of the aviation industry and women and minorities in collegiate aviation programs. His research interests are in the areas of distance education, policy design and implementation, and aviation safety. Mr. VLasek is currently the Vice-President for the Staff Advisory Counsel for the University and is a member of Alpha Eta Rho, Omaha Optimist Club of Aviation, Nebraska Business Aviation Association, National Business Aviation Association, Experimental Aircraft Association, Civil Air Patrol, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, the Boys Scout of America Aviation Explorer Program, and the University Aviation Association. Additionally, Mr. Vlasek’s honors include, Aviation Optimist Student of the Year, NASA Fellowship recipient, and selection in the 1996 Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges, and March 2002 Employee of the Month for the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
