
Mrs. Karisa Vlasek .

Karisa Vlasek is the Geospatial Extension & Research Specialist as well as the Assistant Director for the NASA Nebraska Space Grant & EPSCoR Office. Mrs. Vlasek holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geography and a Master of Public Administration Degree with an Aviation Administration Minor from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She is the point of contact for the Nebraska Geospatial Extension Program, a national initiative sponsored by NASA, USDA, and NOAA. The goal of the program is to facilitate adoption of geospatial technologies, such as GIS, GPS, and remote sensing to users across the state of Nebraska. Mrs. Vlasek is active in many geospatial organizations and is currently serving as the Membership Officer for the Upper Midwest Chapter of the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) and is the former Secretary for the Nebraska GIS/LIS Association. In addition, she participates in the Association of American Geographers (AAG), National States Geographic Information Council (NSGIC), Nebraska Agricultural Technologies Association (NeATA), Association for Women Geoscientists (AWG), and Gamma Theta Upsilon’s (GTU) Omega Omega Alumni Chapter. Mrs. Vlasek is also the primary contact for Native American and Higher Education Programs, such as Workforce Development and Teacher Training.
