MISSION STATEMENT

Statement:
The Aviation Institute maintains preeminent standing in collegiate aviation through the provision of superior education, research, and service initiatives.

Tenets:

  1. We provide quality education with a focus on the interface between the public and private sectors of aviation at the graduate and undergraduate levels, and through continuing education opportunities available both in residence and worldwide through distance education channels.
  2. We contribute to the advancement of aviation and aerospace through internationally recognized research which aids the United States in the retention of world leadership in aviation.
  3. We promote increased awareness and knowledge of aviation among the general public through many service programs which are nationally recognized.

Focus:
The Aviation Institute advocates the development of improved aviation/aerospace systems while furthering their integration into the overall modal transportation architecture; with emphasis on the public and private sector interface between the airport, fixed-base service provider, air carrier industry, and public regulatory environments.
